Leadership Development Programme
Transnet offers its employees developmental opportunities to strengthen their skills and broaden their knowledge.
We offer part-time bursaries to permanent employees and fulltime bursaries to external candidates, send respective employees for coaching and mentoring programmes and offer them international exposure through international developmental programmes.
International Relations
We have an ongoing relationship with the University of Antwerp for the development of skills in the Maritime Industry. The Belgian government supports TPT by partially sponsoring this and other initiatives aimed at developing capacity in the port environment.
Women Development
Transnet has also embarked on a two year Women Development Programme where a total of 10 women across the organisation every year are chosen to be on-boarded to port logistics, trained and taught to lead in this male-heavy environment.
Balanced Scorecard Approach
This is a strategic performance management framework that allows organisations to manage and measure the delivery of their strategy. The Balanced Scorecard approach requires the grouping of objectives and targets into four perspectives financial; customer; internal process; and learning and growth.
Graduates in Training Programme
The GIT Programme seeks to create opportunities for young South Africans who have completed 3 year degree/national diploma and obtained a formal qualification in various commercial fields at a recognised tertiary institution.
